I decided to break from the typical format a bit to try something new. I realized that while I was trying to reduce the content I was consuming, it wasn’t really fair to be flooding your inbox and expecting you to spend your precious time reading my lengthy updates. Here’s hoping this is a little bit easier for everyone to enjoy and get the updates they’re looking for.
I hope you’re still willing to come along for the ride…
Onward…
What I’ve shipped since last month:
Rebuilt my personal website to showcase my work history a bit better:
https://zackgilbert.com/
Took a couple of days and built the first version of something that’s been in my head for years:

I wrote these newsletter posts:
What went well:
I did a really good job supporting my family this month, which I’m really proud of.
Listened to my gut and put BuildMyMVP.co on hiatus while I focus on my new fractional CTO client. Proud of myself for making that hard decision after getting a lot of really great feedback and encouragement from others.
Despite not being an expert in the technologies my new client utilizes in their stack, this week was very successful and I’m really proud of the value and insights I’ve been able to deliver to them for moving forward.
What went poorly:
Still struggling with focus and getting distracted. Going to try to limit my Twitter time to no more than an hour (as suggested by the always wise Arvid Kahl in his Find Your Following course).
I consumed more than I created, which I’d like to get into a habit of reversing. I started a “Consumption Queue” and hope to ruthlessly prioritize what gets added and how fast I go through it.
The list of projects I want to work on keeps growing. I’d like to see more of those move from idea to “in progress” or “launched”. That or be more ruthless in my scrutinizing what gets added to the list. Either way.
Asks:
No asks. I just hope you are enjoying the summer with your friends and family.
I’d love to know if this is a more appealing format, or if you miss the longer form. Still trying to figure out what resonates best with people.
