It’s been a little bit since my last update. Will make this one quick and get back to it. I’ve been focused and hard at work on a new project in the accounting software space. In less than a month, we’ve gone from an idea to a fully demo-able product.
What I’ve shipped since last month:
Not much publicly that I can show (just yet). Been busy being heads down building as much as possible.
My wife’s book finally hit the world and is available via Amazon. If you’ve ever wondered what it took to create a professional website on Squarespace, this is the book for you. Incredibly proud of her and what she’s been putting out into the world.
What went well:
Coding: Really proud of how much coding I’ve been able to carve out and what I’ve been able to build within one month. It’s been incredibly energizing and fun.
Focus: My focus over the last month has been pretty consistent. I’ve been largely able to carve out 2-3 hours in the evenings, along with an hour here or there during the day.
Family: The boy is doing well and growing like crazy. The wife is crushing it and just getting started. We’ve had some quality time and a bit of travel before we celebrate his birthday which I’m really looking forward to.
What went poorly:
Writing: Haven’t really been in the frame of mind to write much. Will get back to it soon, I’m sure, but for now, building is monopolizing most of my non-family/non-work time.
Work: Continuing to help my current client as best I can. I think we are making good progress and I’m providing value, but there’s always room for improvement.
Asks:
Would love to hear about your experiences with your accountant and paying taxes. Things you found frustrating but also things you really appreciated.
