Emotional Investor’s Update #12 (2024-01-14)
Continuing to water the seeds and stacking the bricks. 🤞
Another year. Another month. We made it through another holiday season and I’m excited to get back into the groove of things and see a bunch of these projects I’ve been working on to fruition. They are really coming together and there are quite a few goal lines we are super close to crossing.
What I’ve shipped since last month:
Continuing to finish ironing out all the bugs and cleaning up data on my wife’s company’s tool. Really love how this has come together so far. I hope they agree.
Quickly built an engagement onboarding tool for the account firm software I’ve been building for the last couple of months. We are putting the final pieces together and should be rolling it out in the next week or so.
After a few delays, my CTO work should see the major project we’ve been working on for the last couple of months launching into beta this coming week.
What went poorly:
Plans: Things definitely didn’t go as planned this year for the holidays. We had to make quite a few audibles, but everyone did a great job of rolling with things with positive attitudes and accepting the situation.
Productivity: It’s natural that with the holidays and sickness, things might not have been as productive as we’re used to. But we did the best we could with what we were given.
Writing: Have an article half-written but this is still not a top priority. So maybe this is actually something that went well. hehe.
What went well:
Family: The holidays are all about family. We didn’t get to spend as much time with our extended family as we hoped, but we made the most of the experience and had a really lovely time together. The boy seemed to really enjoy his Christmas and New Year and we all got to really celebrate Momma’s birthday.
Balance: Through it all, I think there was a good balance of family time, celebration, work, and rest.
Asks:
Stay healthy. Covid and others are rampant right now. Take care of each other.
I’m not crazy about this format. It’s feeling repetitive. But I do like how easy it can be to recap my month. Going to think about this a bit more, but I’d love to hear your thoughts.
